Launch in 82 days
- Confirm your edition and platform — Standard ($79.99) vs Ultimate ($99.99), PS5 vs Xbox Series X|S — before pre-order or purchase.
- Free up storage conservatively. No official install size exists yet; plan for noticeably more than Red Dead Redemption 2's roughly 100GB PS5 baseline.
- Watch your own console's store listing for a preload date rather than a third-party estimate — Rockstar has not published one as of this writing.
- Decide on single-player expectations going in — GTA 6 launches as a single-player game, with no GTA Online-style multiplayer confirmed for day one.
FAQ
Common GTA 6 Guides and Walkthroughs questions
When does GTA 6 come out?
19 November 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — announced via Rockstar's own statement on X and reported by ESPN on 6 November 2025. It is the second delay from an original May 2025 target.
How big is the GTA 6 download?
Rockstar has not published an install size for any platform. Every "120GB", "150GB" or "200GB" figure circulating is an outlet's or analyst's estimate based on comparisons to earlier Rockstar releases, not a number from Rockstar itself.
When does GTA 6 preload start?
No official preload date has been published. Outlet estimates — not an official date — point to a window opening roughly a week before launch, in line with how PlayStation and Xbox typically schedule preloads for major releases.
Will GTA 6 have online multiplayer at launch?
Rockstar's own PlayStation Store listing states "Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience." Rockstar has not issued a separate statement ruling out an online mode entirely — the absence of any online-mode language, combined with that wording, is what has led outlets to conclude GTA Online-style multiplayer is not part of the November 19 release.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
No PC version has been announced or dated. Based on the console-to-PC gaps for GTA IV (about 7 months), GTA V (about 19 months) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (about 13 months), a PC release sometime between roughly December 2027 and June 2028 is a reasonable arithmetic projection — not a Rockstar-stated date.
