How to Make Money Fast in GTA 6 (Story Mode)
Eight pre-launch GTA 6 money methods ranked by modelled dollars per hour for story mode, with setup cost, risk and honest confidence labels.
GTA 6 has not launched. Every dollar figure on this page is a pre-launch model, built from comparable in-game economies and the material Rockstar and Take-Two have made public — not a measured result. We label every number as an estimate below, and we will replace this whole table with logged runs the day the servers open.
Why hourly rate is the only number that matters
A payout on the results screen is not the same thing as what an hour of your evening is actually worth. A single run that pays a huge lump sum but takes all night can be a worse use of your time than a small, repeatable job you can run back to back. That is why every method on MoneyMeta is ranked by modelled dollars per hour, not by the sticker price of the payout.
Payout is not earnings. What matters is dollars per hour after setup time, not the number printed on the results screen.
Setup cost matters too — a method that pays well per hour but needs a large upfront investment is a different proposition for a player one hour into story mode than for a player with a stocked-up account. The table below carries both figures so you can weigh them for where you actually are in the campaign.
The eight money methods, ranked by modelled $/hour

| Armoured Convoy Intercept | $412,000/hr | $25,000 | 2 | High | Estimated |
| Port Container Run | $310,500/hr | $8,000 | 1 | Medium | Estimated |
| Vehicle Export Loop | $225,000/hr | $12,000 | 1 | Low | Estimated |
| Beachfront Rental Yield | $155,200/hr | $850,000 | 1 | Low | Estimated |
| Warehouse Resupply Cycle | $88,500/hr | $150,000 | 1 | Medium | Estimated |
| Courier Contract Chain | $62,000/hr | $500 | 1 | Low | Estimated |

Modelled from pre-release material and comparable heist-loop, freight, rental-yield and market-spread systems in other open-world economies. Every row above is labelled Estimated because nothing about GTA 6 can honestly be labelled measured before the game exists to measure. See each method's source note in our open dataset for exactly what it was modelled on.
What our confidence labels mean
You will see exactly one confidence label on MoneyMeta right now: Estimated. We will not write "measured", "tested" or "confirmed" next to a single figure on this site until it comes from a logged, repeatable run in the shipped game. That is the entire premise of this site — an honestly labelled estimate is worth more to you than an impressive-looking number with no source behind it, and every figure above links back to the comparable system it was modelled on rather than presenting itself as fact.
How to use this list in your first week
Early in story mode, favour the low-setup methods — Courier Contract Chain and Teardown Parts Grind need almost no capital and are forgiving if a run goes wrong. Once you have a cushion, Vehicle Export Loop and Port Container Run trade a little more setup for a meaningfully higher rate. Save the highest-variance option, Armoured Convoy Intercept, for once you can afford a failed run without it setting you back a whole session — it tops the table on modelled dollars per hour, but it also carries the highest risk rating of the eight.
If you are weighing property against a repeatable job, our property and business ROI hub breaks down Beachfront Rental Yield and Warehouse Resupply Cycle the same way — modelled payback time against modelled hourly return, not against the purchase price alone. Once the in-game market is live, our stock market guide tracks Street Market Flip and every other spread we can model.
